This modality places compressed "cones" of herbs, attached to the open end of the acupuncture needle. The cone is lit to the point where it smolders and its healing powers are conducted through the entry point of the acupuncture needle . In some cases the moxa is simply held by the practitioner above the selected points or even placed directly on the epidermis. Very aromatic and pleasant to the senses with its warmth and fragrance.

An ancient technique using a series of different sized glass cups. A burning match is placed inside the cup for a short period and then the cup is placed on the selected area of the patient. With the flame exhausting the oxygen in the cup, a vacuum is created; adhering the patients skin to the cup, drawing the skin up. The resulting effect of this process encourage the flow of 'Qi' (energy) and blood in the area beneath the cup. Consequently, stagnation in the area begins to clear. Ms. Postolov is a preferred provider for PHCS and Beech Street Network Insurance companies. You should also contact your respective Health Insurance plan as benefits vary from plan to plan. Most insurance companies now reimburse their members partly or in full for acupuncture services. Our practice accepts and is especially effective in Workers Compensation cases.
